Changes on the way!

Another very mild and humid day is on tap today as a ridge of high pressure remains in control of the weather pattern and we have light onshore flow.

Changes are on the way; however, as a cold front sags southward and will start to allow for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms to develop over SE TX tomorrow afternoon/evening which will spread eastward over Louisiana Friday morning. I don't anticipate much in the way of thunderstorm/heavy rainfall activity, but all areas should see at least some of the wet stuff. Much better coverage and rain amounts the farther west you go. The actual cold front and wind shift will hit Houston and Acadiana (similar timing with this system) until tomorrow night.

The front will be slow moving and won't make it too far offshore. With the front nearby and a lot of Pacific moisture being pumped in from the southwest as an upper level storm system traverses the Southern Rockies and northern Mexico, look for good rain chances to continue through Saturday. Again, higher rain chances and better coverage will exist the farther west you go. In fact, latest data indicates much of the Houston area will see 1-2 inches of rain with Acadiana likely falling in the 0.25 to 1.0 inch range. Still, rain should be widespread enough to end the fire weather concerns for at least central and western LA. Still not a drought buster though.

Temperatures will not be nearly as cold behind this front as the last one. But still, a lot of clouds, rain and temps in the 60s will make it feel quite chilly at times.

Some of the data suggest we could see another round of rain Monday, but that will depend on the placement of the front and how much Pacific energy is left moving out of northern Mexico.

Enjoy the last day of pretty settle weather. God Bless!
