2023 and the start of 2024 will be a bit chilly. Temperatures are going to remain colder than normal through the rest of this week, then we'll see some warming Saturday afternoon and Sunday before temperatures trend downward again Monday. Temperatures will then remain below normal much of next week...just not sure how cold. It probably won't be as cold as the rest of the week, but more clouds could be involved along with rain chances.
A light freeze is looking more likely for much of Acadiana Friday and Saturday morning, especially along and north of I-10. Upper 20s is possible up near and north of 190. Including tomorrow morning, there should be 4 straight days with morning lows in the 30s!
Conditions are expected to remain dry with no rain today through Sunday. If just a little more moisture was around in the upper atmosphere, a few snow flakes would be possible Friday as the upper atmosphere will be very cold. Its just not quite moist enough. Rain chances will likely hold off until Sunday night and Monday as s quick moving system brings some showers in. There should be another system mid to late next week, but still a lot of uncertainty.
