Chilly and mostly dry weather continues...

A big ole area of high pressure will maintain its control of the weather pattern today and tomorrow keeping things chilly to cool and moslty dry. Western portions of the Greater Houston area will see some light rain today. Temperatures will gradually trend warmer through Friday.

The next chance of area wide rain will be Friday night over the Houston area and early Saturday morning in Acadiana as an upper level disturbance and weak cold front slip through the area. Batches of showers will impact much of the area with a few embedded thunderstorms possible. Severe storms are not expected. Also, higher rain chances and coverage will be across SE TX and will decrease the farther east you go. Still, much of Acadiana should see at least a little rain. Rainfall totals should average around 0.5 - 1.5 inches over the Houston area and 0.25 to 1.25 around Acadiana.

A slight cooling and drying trend will move in behind this system with cooler and drier conditoins continuing through the start of next week.
