I hope everyone got in on some early season gumbo this weekend. I know I did! Praise God for gumbo weather!!
Chilly mornings and pleasant afternoons will continue through tomorrow, but look for a change in the weather pattern mid to late week as high pressure moves off and onshore flow returns. Moisture levels and temperatures will steadily climb tomorrow afternoon through Friday, and afternoons will become quite warm. The Houston area will become much warmer than Acadiana with afternoon highs in the upper 80s Thursday and near 90F on Friday. Light winds and rising moisture will likely lead to some brief early morning fog. Not near larger lakes and the coasts; however. Water temperatures are generally too warm for that.
A weak front should knock the humidity back a bit Friday and to start the weekend (more so over Acadiana than SE TX), but it will be short lived as humidity and temperatures look to average back above normal late in the weekend and next week.
As far as rain chances, the region will be feeling the influence of a ridge of high pressure to the west, and the main storm track will be too far to the north to really provide some lift for widespread showers and storms. Ahead of the weak front late in the week, there could be a few showers and isolated thunderstorms (mainly late Thursday and Thursday night), but most areas should remain dry. Some Pacific moisture could spread in early to mid next week and bring the next decent chance of rain. But, that's pretty far out there and timing and intensity is very uncertain...as you'd expect.
