More storms this afternoon...nice weekend expected

The stalled front will interact with a passing disturbance and some daytime heating to spark scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening. In the Houston area and SE TX, coastal counties will see, by far, the best chance of thunderstorms. In Acadiana, near and south of Opelousas and Ville Platte will have the best rain chances. Also the timing in the Houston area will be early to mid afternoon, and across Acadiana, best chances will be mid afternoon through the evening. Much of the area will see 0.10 to 0.75 inch of rain, but some locations could see another 1-2 inches today.

A weak area of high pressure will build in tomorrow with a very nice weekend on tap. Humidity will drop through the day tomorrows and look for cool mornings and mild afternoons through the start of next week.

Looking later down the road, the weather doesn't look to exciting through next week. However, we could see some very unsettled weather swing through over the middle of the month as the subtropical jet gets more active and a big storm system could swing through northern Mexico and/or the Southern Rockies.

Enjoy all that rain soaking in! God Bless.
