Temperatures more normal

Thunderstorm activity yesterday and this morning over Houston will lead to more normal temperatures today. Also, the weakening ridge of high pressure will keep temperatures close to normal tomorrow and into next week. Temps will still average a bit above normal, but nothing like its been this summer.

Acadiana looks mostly dry through the rest of the weekend but the Houston area could see a few storms pop mid to late afternoon today. They won't be widespread, but could be briefly strong. The west side of the Greater Houston area will see the best chance of storms.

Mostly dry weather is expected through the first half of next week. We should then get a weak cold front slide in from the north which will be a focus mechanism for rain mid to late week. Thursday and Friday currently look to have the best chance of rain. It doesn't look like a drought buster, but locally heavy rainfall could become possible. Locally strong storms could, again, be a threat depending on the timing.
