Trending a little drier today

Some areas were blessed with some decent rain yesterday. Strong winds came with the heavier storms, but most damage was very localized. Yesterday's storms did clear things out a little more than expected, so some models are trending drier today. Still, there should be a good 40% coverage of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon as afternoon heating interacts with lingering moisture. Things will trend drier tomorrow and Thursday (closer to 30% chance/coverage) and mostly dry weather will then settle in late in the week and continue this weekend.

Afternoon temperatures will remain hot and humidity values will remain up a bit higher than previously expected. Still, mornings and evenings won't be too bad. Moisture levels and humidity will trend lower this weekend and into next week as surface high pressure builds in from the northeast.
