Very hot, but not completely dry

A few lucky spots got a little rain yesterday, and as expected, thunderstorms carried a little gusty winds as well.

Afternoon highs above 100F will continue today and into the weekend, but there will be the daily risk of isolated showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow. Best chances will be north of I-10. Moisture levels will begin to increase some on Sunday ahead of a weak front which will allow rain chances to start to climb. However, Sunday might be one of the hottest days in the forecast thanks to really light winds and the ridge of high pressure building southward towards the area as it weakens. Afternoon rain chances will be around 40% for Acadiana and 20-30% around Houston.

Depending on the location of the front and timing, rain chances will bump up to 40-60% Tuesday and Wednesday. A tropical system heading towards Florida will draw that front into the Gulf and there should be some nice drier air moving in through the rest of next week. Should have less humidity, and the mornings and evenings will feel nicer.
