Wet and Chilly

Clouds have really thickened up over Southeast Texas and they'll do the same over Acadiana later today a low pressures system swings in from the west. Showers will increase with this system over the Houston area by late afternoon with rain likely into tonight. Showers will ramp up over Acadiana with showers likely tonight through sunrise Wednesday before drier air moves in. Most areas will see 0.3" to 1.25" of rain with this system. Locally, up to 2 inches will be possible.

A little drying and cooling will spread in behind this system tomorrow and Thursday before the next system moves through Friday (early for Houston, afternoon for Acadiana). Rain amounts will be somewhat similar with this low, but it looks like there could be a tighter north to south gradient of rainfall with coastal areas seeing a better chance of 1.5+ inches and rain amounts dropping off the farther inland you go. Some rumbles of thunder are possible, but neither storm systems pose a significant risk of strong thunderstorms.

Buckle up because the active weather pattern is expected to continue next week as things could get colder and stormier. Still tough to tell how extreme, but be prepared for occasional shots of good rains and col air through next week.
